So You Want To Make Big Profits From Your AdWords PPC Campaigns?

July 29th, 2009 by Carl Petty

Everyone wants to make $300 a day or more with their AdWords campaigns. You’ve started a few campaigns, spent a few dollars, and now you’re wondering – “where’s the payoff!”

There’s no secret to AdWords success. Like anything, joining the big leagues of AdWords profits means you must put in the hours. In this case, it’s hours of keyword work.

Extensive Keyword Research

There are literally thousands of keywords for every industry. By advertising a thousand or more keywords you will greatly increase your chance of getting clicks at a cheaper rate.

Consider this:

Campaign A: Your AdWords campaign has only 4 keywords. These keywords are the most popular keywords for your industry. The average CPC is $1. These keywords get 6000 searches a day. Your campaign is getting a 2% CTR which means your getting $120 clicks at a total cost of $120.

Campaign B: You research and bid on 2000 keywords. The average CPC is .10 These 2000 keywords also receive 6000 search queries a day. Again using a 2% CTR, your campaign is delivering 120 visitors. But instead of paying $120 as in Campaign A, you are only paying $12.

Obviously, Campaign B is the better performing campaign. Campaign B is saving $108 a day, $3,600 a month and $43,200 per year. The difference in ROI is staggering.

Remember, the difference between the two campaigns was in the keywords. Campaign A had a few popular keywords. Campaign B contained 2000 keywords. The keywords in Campaign B are less popular, translating to a cheap CPC for you.

How To Find Keywords For Your PPC Campaigns

Now you know the importance of doing extensive keyword research before beginning an AdWords campaign. But how do you come up with a long list of targetted keywords. Here’s how:

The simplest and easiest method to come up with good keywords is to think long and hard. “Yeah, that’ll get me 50 words” you say.” Still need more keywords? Try these tools;

1. Google Keyword Generator (adwords.google.com/select/KeywordSandbox)
2. WordTracker (www.wordtracker.com)
3. Overture Search Suggestion Tool (inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/)
4. Keyword Wrapper (www.keyword-toolkit.com/keyword-wrapper/)
5. MyTrashMail Keyword Generator (www.mytrashmail.com/Keyword_Generator.aspx)

Happy keyword hunting. You can never have too many keywords. Just remember with each keyword you are increasing your ROI. And istn’t that what it’s all about?

You can discuss this article in the ReveNow! Forums (www.revenow.com/forums).

Free Article Writing Tips to Increase Website Traffic

July 29th, 2009 by Carl Petty

By: John Michaels
If you’re not doing so already, you may want to consider writing articles about your website’s topic. Writing copyright free articles is a great way to:

Establish your credibility and build your reputation and brand
Establish yourself as an expert in your field
Increase your exposure on the internet
Gain laser targeted traffic to your website
Increase the number of one way links to your website, which should help your website in the search results.

Writing articles about the topic of your website is a fantastic way to demonstrate your expertise and credibility and at the same time allows you to build your reputation and your brand. Submitting your articles to the various free article sites gives your articles the opportunity to be picked up by other webmasters for their websites and newsletters. When your articles get used on these other websites they must be used with the author bio section un-edited. This means that you can generate one way links to your website, which in turn leads to greater exposure and better rankings in the search engines. If the readers of your articles on other sites click through to your site, you gain targeted traffic.

Some Article Writing Tips
To get the greatest benefit from your article writing endeavors, try to keep the following article writing tips in mind:

Try to stay away from turning your article into a sales pitch. Give your readers credit – they will be able to distinguish a sales pitch right away. Once they think they’re just reading another sales pitch they will quickly click away from your article. I can just about guarantee that no one will pick up your sales pitch and use it on their website, unless it’s one of your affiliates.
Don’t include too many hyperlinks within the article body and stick to only one in the author bio section. Most webmasters will not pick up an article, no matter how good it is, if there are too many outgoing links. I would recommend not having any links within the article body but sometimes this is unavoidable.
Which situation would you rather have: 1 article with 1 outgoing link to your website that gets picked up by 1,000 webmasters or 1 article with 10 outgoing links that gets picked up by 10 webmasters?
Check, re-check and then check your article again for typos and grammatical errors. Have someone else proofread it for you before submitting it. Nothing says amateur more than typos and grammatical errors.
Write articles that complement the topic of your website. Don’t write about something totally unrelated to your website. Remember, you want to establish your credibility and expertise. Write about what you know.
When adding that one link back to your site, make sure to include a keyword targeted link back to your site. I’m talking specifically about the words between the anchor tags. For example, this is how you should structure the link back to your website: keywords go here.

When the search engine robots come across this link they will index the anchor text and it will help you with those keywords in the search engines. Do not waste this valuable link by just having your website address (www.website.com) as the anchor text unless you have your main keywords in the website address. Try to vary the keywords a little as well when creating this link. There is speculation that having too many “uniform” links to a site may hurt you – just something to keep in mind.
Do not place a copyright notice at the top of your article. This leads to confusion and may cause webmasters to stay away from posting your articles on their website and in their newsletters.
It may be a good idea to write completely new content for your articles. Some writers just copy and paste parts of their websites and put them into articles. This may lead to a “duplicate content” penalty and may end up hurting your search engine results. I would recommend that you should play it safe and come up with totally new content for your articles.

How Many Articles Should I Write?
The number of articles that you will have to write really depends on how good your competitors are. If you’re competing against many highly optimized websites, then you may have your work cut out for you. On the other hand, if you notice that your competitors are not all that great at the SEO thing, your road to article writing will be much shorter. Any way you look at it, writing articles can bring too many benefits that are yours for the taking.

Creating Video Software Tutorials – High Value Products You Can Easily Sell

July 29th, 2009 by Carl Petty

By: James Simpson
What software programs do you use on a regular basis? What tricks do you know that make your life using the software far easier, and speed up your production because of it?

If you know secrets about the software you use, then you need to make software tutorials detailing what you do and how you do it. You can then sell these tutorials for a small fee, aiming to get many hundreds of buyers looking to make their time more productive.

So what do you need to record your tutorials? Start off with Camtasia Studio from Techsmith. It’s an outstanding software application that lets you record your desktop activity, i.e. the actions you’re making in the software you’re using.

This means you can record every action, every keystroke you make whilst using your software – and add voice commentary to it at the same time – to create high-value software tutorials people will be happy to pay for.

The voiceover will need a decent microphone, ideally USB. I’ve found that the Plantronics DSP-500 headset works best – it produces outstanding audio at a low price. Also, Camtasia Studio will instantly recognise the microphone, so you won’t have to spend hours trying to configure it.

Believe it or not, that’s all you’ll need. Using just these 2 items will allow you to create high-value software tutorials that show others the tips and tricks you know.

And don’t think for a second that others won’t pay for your tutorials. If you’re showing them a way to save time, increase their productivity and improve their overall knowledge of the software in question, then without a doubt people will pay money for your information.

Also, video tutorials have a huge advantage over books in that many, many people prefer to learn visually. Their attention span is short when reading and they can find it difficult to grasp the concept of turning what they read into actions with the software they’re learning.

By seeing what’s going on directly in the application, they can simply replicate the process without having to refer to a load of text and a dozen screen shots.

So, if you specialize in a software application and you can teach others how to use it effectively, then you need to seriously consider this. And to top it off, if the software in questions also has an affiliate program, you can quickly produce additional income from your tutorials by offering a special discount on your product if the software is bought via your affiliate link.

Opt-In Email and eZine Advertising Still More Effective Than RSS, Blogs, and PPC!

July 29th, 2009 by Carl Petty

Opt-In Email and eZine Advertising Still More Effective Than RSS, Blogs, and PPC!
By: Drew Michael
When you factor in all the costs related to promoting via an Opt-In Email or Ezine campaign you are still getting the best return on your advertising dollar investment than using RSS, Blogs or PPC. The measurable results are significantly faster than RSS and Blogs and less expensive than using Pay Per Click marketing. Without a doubt, Email and Newsletter advertising campaigns are still two of the best tools available to promote your product or service.

Email Marketing Campaigns
There are a great many people that are still reluctant to use what is one of the best marketing tools available today. Many marketers associate email marketing with spam and have concerns about being shut down by their ISP or hosting company. The fact is, done right and by following specific guidelines you have little to fear. Follow the guidelines outlined below and you will probably kick yourself for not using this tool a lot sooner.

1) CAN-SPAM COMPLIANT: Just about everyone receives hundreds of spam-related emails per week and that is the main reason a lot of legitimate businesses balk at using email marketing. But if you are a legitimate business you only need to do a few things to make your email marketing efforts legal.

(a) Subject Line: It should not be misleading in any way. It should relate to the body of the message and it is a very good practice that the first paragraph relate to the subject line.
(b) Specific Opt-Out Instructions: You must include a way for the reader to opt-out by supplying a link that works.
(c) Physical Address: If you work out of an office this is the address that should appear after your signature. If you work out of the home your home address should appear after the signature.
(d) From Address: Messages should be from the same “from address”

2) USE OPT-IN EMAIL ADDRESSES ONLY: This is very important. Use only Opt-In email addresses for your marketing efforts. There are many legitimate email suppliers so you have a lot of options. And even using 100% Opt-In Email Addresses does not guarantee that you won’t have a few people complaining. But if you purchase addresses that include the full name, IP and date stamp you have proof of the opt-in just in case it is needed.

Additional Tips For a Successful Email Marketing Campaign

1) USE EMAIL MARKETING SOFTWARE: We like Broadc@st HTML Bulk Email Software(www.myaffiliateprogram.com/u/mailwork/b.asp?id=1979) and GroupMail 5 (www.infacta.com/asp/common/groupmail.asp). Some of the suppliers listed below provide free email marketing software.

2) USE SPAM FILTER SOFTWARE: Don’t let this software intimidate you. The software is easy to setup and use. It is a good idea to use spam filter software to filter out words or phrases that tend to get flagged by ISP spam filters. Some of the suppliers listed below provide free spam filtering software.

3) USE AUTORESPONDERS: Using an autoresponder will save you a lot of time and work. You can preload messages and assign specific criteria to when they should be sent. Some of the suppliers listed below provide free autoresponder software.

4) TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY ONLY: For best results send your email campaign from Tuesday to Thursday. These are the days that will obtain the most attention to your message. Monday is usually bad because people are planning their work-week and getting tasks out of the way quickly. Fridays are bad because most people are already planning their weekends.

5) COME TO THE POINT IMMEDIATELY: Don’t write a book. Try to be as brief as possible and outline your key points in the first paragraph. If you word it right the reader will read on.

The Most Tragic Mistake a New Marketer Almost Always Makes

July 29th, 2009 by Carl Petty

The Most Tragic Mistake a New Marketer Almost Always Makes

By: Richard Meredith

So… you’re a new marketer, and you want to make extra money or even perhaps a great living! One of the first things you do is join an affiliate program or downline club of some sort. Or maybe even you are trying your hand at Ebay or another auction service by marketing some nicely profitable product. Now, once you have some sort of online business vehicle, your mind must gravitate to exactly what kind of advertising to generate sales or memberships.

Online business is an awful lot like regular advertising. What draws you to a business in your home town? Coupons? Specials? Give-aways? A personal recommendation from a friend or trusted associate?

Oh yes – and here is a little secret that is often not known or ignored:

When it comes to building any kind of business online you do the same thing! Give away a free report, an informative ebook, a trial software, an online course, or maybe a subscription to a free newsletter or ezine. This is just simply the way it is done with online business, period. But here is the most critical part… you MUST capture the name and email address FIRST before you give access to it!

It is widely known by all of the top marketers online that your PRIMARY task to be successful is to compile a list of people (prospective customers) that are interested in the type of thing you are giving away! This is so easy to do with an autoresponder. They just fill a form, and they are automatically added to your list, and then are redirected to your download page or membership site.

Then the next task is to automatically send a series of messages with that autoresponder that tell more about the reasons why your product or products (or membership program) are BENEFICIAL to them! WHY? Because it is infinitely better to contact a prospect several times rather than only once. It is a proven fact that most people will NOT buy from you or join your program until they have been approached at least 5 to 7 times. This is done as I said, automatically, on a timed basis slowly tapering off until it is a slow drip of messages until they buy or join- or unsubscribe from your list. And when you run special promotions of any kind, a feature of the best autoresponders allows you to broadcast to your entire list any time you want. This is how many marketers can make huge amounts of money and sales ON DEMAND- whenever and as often as they like!

Details about which autoresponders are best, and the techniques of developing a list and how often to mail to that list are subjects that deserve more time and attention than can be given here… but suffice it to say that if YOU are not FIRST developing a list, and then marketing to your list AFTERWARDS- you’re just missing the boat!

Pure and simple!

So if you are advertising an affiliate link, or your products’ sale page… or anything other than your free subscription, report, ebook, or course – it can indeed be the most tragic mistake you can make in your online business strategy!

If this is you, pull back and regroup, and completely re-think your marketing strategy now before you lose too much time, money, energy, or motivation.

And remember… BUILD your LIST!

How To Choose An Internet Marketing Niche And Quickly Dominate It

July 29th, 2009 by Carl Petty

How To Choose An Internet Marketing Niche And Quickly Dominate It
By: Rick Miller
In a recent interview with Tellman Knudson for the List Crusade program, Shawn Casey revealed how to choose an Internet Marketing niche and crush your competition.

(Note: To access Shawn Casey’s complete audio interview for free, see end of article)

Shawn’s background as an attorney, author, publisher, company owner, corporate executive, public speaker, and teacher makes him uniquely qualified to show you how to be a success in Internet Marketing. Shawn is recognized one of the leading financial experts in the world. He is credited with making and saving thousands of people millions of dollars because of the valuable information he provides.

Listen closely to what Shawn has to say:

“Let’s say you know something about rose gardening. You love rose gardening. You’re probably an expert at it, even though you don’t realize it, because this is your passion.

Your marketplace would be other people that are interested in rose gardening. You can create a report, audio, video… something that is valuable information about rose gardening… maybe how to prune them…how to do something. I don’t know much about rose gardening, so I don’t specifically know what that would be.

Then you go find the people who have traffic with people coming in looking to buy roses, information about how to care for their roses, what roses to plant, where to plant them, how to trim them, how to cut them, and all that cool stuff that people do.

You then go to those people who are driving in traffic and acquiring subscribers. You say to them, ‘Listen, I’ve got this information that is of value to your visitors. So when you offer it to them, Mr. Rose Grower, you’re going to be a good guy. You’re giving them free information that they’d otherwise have to go down to the garden store or Home Depot and give money for. You’re giving it away free. That’s going to help you out and help your creditability, make your customers like you better, make you seem like a nice guy, and help you build your list.’

In turn, you get a little good will, good karma, some subscribers, and potentially customers. Obviously, you don’t need to tell them this. This is just something for them to figure out. They’re distributing your product that leads them back to your website so that they might buy from you. This doesn’t hurt them at all because you’re not competing with them directly.

Using this method, we piggyback on that related market because we provide the information, while they provide the product.”

In the List Crusade interview, Shawn also revealed:

How to ethically cheat building your list fast and cheap by leveraging your resources
Two steps to quickly become the acknowledged expert in any niche
Is banner advertising dead?
Get paid to build your list for free
What is the one secret way to test your website for less than $30?

As you read Shawn’s secrets of how to quickly achieve success in any niche, you begin to realize the tremendous potential and knowledge you already possess.  So the only question is, will you take the next step and take action today?

How to Succeed as an Affiliate on the Net By: Harvey Segal

July 29th, 2009 by Carl Petty

How to Succeed as an Affiliate on the Net
By: Harvey Segal
When a company has a product or a service that they wish to sell they will often enlist ‘affiliates’ to do the job of finding customers for them.

You may know an affiliate by another name, for example: agent, reseller, associate, communicator.

Once the affiliate has managed to get the customer to make an order his job ends. The whole process of handling the order, the collection of payment, the shipping of goods, is done by the company (or distributor).

Who benefits?
This is a tremendous arrangement for both sides.

The distributor simply waits for orders to arrive and has no involvement in the marketing phase. The affiliate simply gets a customer, for example, to visit a web site and takes no further part.

Commission is paid to the affiliate on the value of orders made.

It is the power of the Internet with the possibility of cheap or free advertising for a vast audience which makes reselling such an outstanding business opportunity.

And if you have your own website, where you have the luxury of posting your own ads for free, then you have an effortless income-producing system.

Two things which make reselling even more exciting
If the product can earn you residual income, for example a monthly commission all the while that the customer continues to renew it. If you can recruit your own affiliates and collect commission either for each affiliate or for the products that they sell.

What should you look out for?
Here are some rules for checking out affiliate opportunities:

#1 The company

First, there would be no point in generating massive commission on ‘paper’ only to find that the company are unreliable, don’t pay up on time, or eventually fold.

Test out the company first.

Make an inquiry as if you were a potential customer. Study the quality of their reply and of their literature or website.

How quickly do they respond? If their customer service is poor this does not give much hope for the way they will handle their affiliates.

Are they an ethical company, what guarantees do they provide for refunds ?

#2 The product

Is the product an item which is in good demand?

What is the rate of commission?

These two factors will determine your potential earnings.

As a guide commission should range from 25 to 50%.

#3 Assistance with promotion
Does the company provide advertising material for their affiliates?

In particular do they provide a personalised web site?

#4 The cost
What is the cost of becoming an affiliate ?

This can vary from completely free paying an initial one off payment paying a monthly subscription.

You don’t have to be deterred by affiliate opportunities where payment is involved. These may offer greater benefits such as advanced promotion techniques and commission which will quickly outweigh the payments.

For example $30 per month may seem a high figure but if you regard it as one dollar a day to have the company’s products displayed 24 hours a day to the whole world on your own personalised web site it could be viewed as the bargain of the century.

Can anyone become an affiliate?
Affiliate opportunities are ideal for both experienced online marketeers and for newcomers to the Internet. Here’s why:

#1 Experienced online marketeers

If you have an established web site the minimum that you need to do is post an ad on your own site.

And there’s no need to stop at one product.

Providing that you don’t overload your web site with ads you could have many – and you can monitor how they perform so that you can judge which ones to give prominence to.

#2 Newcomers

One of the first and most important skills you will need to use for any online business is how to place adverts.

Here are some of the things that you start to learn when you submit ads:

The various locations where you can place an ad such as newsgroups, forums, ezines, web sites: and the different rules and methods used for each one such as frequency of posting and size of ads.
How to post information to a mailing list or newsgroup for free but using a signature file to promote your products.
How to code your adverts so that you can identify where the response originates.
How to organise your mail files to handle responses.
How to simplify your own systems so that you have standard replies to common questions.
How to set up autoresponders if necessary to take away the chore of responding manually.
How to deal with the unexpected (for example, even though you may clearly spell out in your ad that a reply should be made to an autoresponder many people will still reply directly to you).
By taking on an affiliate operation you have an ideal opportunity to practise these methods. This will provide the experience for whatever online venture you plan as well as an excellent source of additional income.
